Working principle of Dalian water source heat pump unit
In today's era of pursuing energy conservation and environmental protection, water source heat pump units are widely used in many fields due to their high efficiency, energy saving, environmental protection and other advantages. To gain a deeper understanding of the wonders of water source heat pump units, it is necessary to first understand their working principles.
The Dalian water source heat pump unit mainly utilizes the low-temperature and low-level thermal energy resources formed by the absorption of solar and geothermal energy from shallow water sources on the Earth's surface (such as groundwater, rivers, and lakes) and soil sources. It adopts the principle of heat pump and transfers low-level thermal energy to high-level thermal energy through a small amount of electrical energy input.
The working process can be divided into the following key steps.
Firstly, there is the process of absorbing heat. In summer cooling mode, the water source heat pump unit absorbs heat from the building through the piping system, while the refrigerant inside the unit evaporates, absorbing heat into a low-temperature and low-pressure gaseous refrigerant. These pipelines penetrate deep into groundwater sources or soil. Due to the relatively stable temperature of groundwater sources or soil, which is lower than indoor air temperature, refrigerants can absorb more heat from groundwater or soil, thereby reducing indoor temperature.
Then comes the compression process. The low-temperature and low-pressure gaseous refrigerant is sucked into the compressor, and through the compression effect of the compressor, the temperature and pressure of the refrigerant rise sharply, becoming a high-temperature and high-pressure gaseous refrigerant.

Next is the exothermic process. High temperature and high pressure gaseous refrigerant enters the condenser, where it exchanges heat with external water or air, releasing heat and condensing into high-pressure liquid. In winter heating mode, the process is the opposite, absorbing heat from groundwater sources or soil and releasing it into the building through a condenser to increase indoor temperature.
It's a throttling process. The high-pressure liquid refrigerant passes through a throttling device (such as an expansion valve), and the pressure suddenly decreases. The refrigerant becomes a low-temperature and low-pressure gas-liquid mixture, and then enters the evaporator again to start a new cycle.
It is through this repetitive cycle of operation that the water ground source heat pump unit achieves the cooling and heating functions of the building. Compared with traditional air conditioning systems, it greatly improves energy utilization efficiency, reduces environmental pollution and energy consumption.
In addition, water source heat pump units also have the advantage of stable and reliable operation. Due to the relatively stable temperature of groundwater sources and soil, unlike outdoor air temperature fluctuations, the operating conditions of water source heat pump units are relatively stable, ensuring long-term stable cooling and heating effects.
In short, the Dalian water source heat pump unit, with its unique working principle, has made important contributions to energy conservation, emission reduction, and sustainable development while creating a comfortable indoor environment for people. It is an important development direction for the future HVAC field.
